Welcome to the PML!
We conduct research to develop novel mechatronic systems via synergetic integration of electromechanics, control, instrumentation, and mechanical design. The research theme we are particularly interested in is “design for control”. That is, instead of developing a mechatronic system sequentially from the hardware design then followed by control, we design the system with consideration of control from the beginning, so as to achieve the same or even better performance with control laws of reduced complexity. We view a closed-loop mechatronic system as a whole, and explore broad design space to search for creative mechatronic solutions.
