Our overarching research goal is to design novel mechatronic systems via deterministic integration of mechanics, electromagnetics, control, and instrumentation.
We are particularly enthusiastic about the design that requires in-depth understanding of electromechanics – the dynamic interplay between electromagnetic fields and mechanical objects by means of forces and motions.
We are also interested in the theme of design for control. That is, instead of designing mechatronic systems sequentially from the hardware then followed by control, we design the system as a whole with consideration of control from the beginning, so as to improve the overall performance of closed-loop mechatronic systems.
Our research on precision mechatronics will lead to creative breakthroughs in various sectors of our society, such as biomedical, environment, and manufacturing industries.
